The Benefits of Podcasting in the Classroom

Autumn
I watched another video on podcasting called, "The Benefits of Podcasting in the Classroom." In the video they talked about how podcasting is an effective way of interacting with students outside of the classroom. Secondly, they talked about how podcasting can be a form of learning students of today are familiar with and therefore makes it relevant to them. And I also picked the one on how parents can see and hear what their children are doing at school.

Podcasting can be an effective way of interacting with students outside of the classroom. The speaker on podcasting pointed out how students play video games and spend most of their time with technology. But Podcasting can also be a benefit because it enhances their structure. They showed an example of a young girl who had a fever of 106. The young girl had to stay home and miss her test but because of podcasting she was able to communicate with her teacher.

They also discussed how podcasting can be a form of learning students of today are familiar with and therefore makes it relevant to them. The host took them to Mr. Dell's history class. He had them to do a project on a historical event. One young girl in his class did her assignment on the story of an African American slave who was taken from her parents and then sold.

Lastly, I picked the one on how parents can see and hear what their children are doing at school. The principle in the video talked about how parents love to see what's going on in the classroom. She spoke on how much of a benefit the podcast is in the class for parents.
